Inlays and Onlays in North York

STRONGER TEETH WITHOUT A FULL CROWN
Not every cavity or crack needs a full crown. Inlays and onlays offer a middle ground — more durable than a filling, less invasive than a crown.
WHAT THEY ARE
Inlays and onlays are custom restorations made from porcelain, ceramic, or composite resin.

Inlays fill the space between the cusps (points) of a tooth.

Onlays cover one or more cusps when the damage is more extensive.
We use them when a regular filling wouldn’t be strong enough — but the rest of the tooth is still worth preserving.
WHEN THEY’RE RECOMMENDED
You might need an inlay or onlay if:

A large cavity has weakened part of your tooth.

An old filling needs to be replaced.

There’s a fracture that doesn’t go deep enough to need a crown.

You want a longer-lasting solution that looks more natural.
HOW IT WORKS

We remove any damaged or decayed tooth material.

An impression is taken and sent to a lab for fabrication.

A temporary restoration is placed in the meantime.

Once the inlay or onlay is ready, we bond it securely to your tooth.
The result is a snug, seamless fit that reinforces your tooth while preserving as much healthy structure as possible.

LONG-LASTING SUPPORT FOR YOUR SMILE
Inlays and onlays are built to last — and they help you avoid more aggressive treatment down the line.
